Here's my entry to my friend's contest, Favorite Dessert Contest is accepting entries until December 1st 2011, so you should check it out at the link above, it's on deviantART.

This turned out a lot pinker than I had intended, her hair was originally brown and sweater green but I accidently turned her hair pink and things kind of went of there. I don't really have a favorite dessert, but I felt like drawing ice cream.. ;)

Can't Be Bothered

The finished drawing! I had a lot of fun working on this and think that I am finally starting to make some progress. This took about 15 hours to complete in SAI. I've gotten positive feedback for putting up the wips, so you can see the progresses below.

Flat colors... the colors I originally chose didn't work well at all not even mentioning together.

The lineart. This was fairly frustrating as my SAI settings got mixed up somehow and I had to reset them by feel as I didn't know what the were, before I could do the lineart. I actually used a different brush than I normally use.

Started feeling a lot better about the drawing at this point.

After more scribbling I got to this and was ready to scrap the whole thing.

Later decided to try and salvage the idea.

Hey everyone! Some of you know that I've been wanting to bring more color and a more abstract feel into my art inspired by one of my new favorite artists over on deviantART.

Start: Life

A lot of things have been going through my head lately and I haven't been super inspired to draw. However since I still haven't managed to pull myself back into drawing everyday since I first fell out of that habit there is no way I am letting myself fall further behind then I already am. So, I sit... and I sketch.

My great grandmom has been in and out of the hospital for the past several months, but recently she has gotten much worse and the truth of the matter is, to put it bluntly, she's dieing. 2 Days... 2 weeks... longer than that is not to be expected. I am glad we got to see her on our vacation to IL in 2009. Anyways, this has me a bit sad at the moment and on edge.

Next thing, we have an official "You have to be gone by" date for moving out of our trailer, so we will be leaving by the end of March.

So yeah, I'm okay... I'm sorry I haven't made myself available for conversation to anyone lately.

Hey everyone! Besides needing to practice EVERYTHING I've noticed that legs is something I've been having a LOT of trouble with lately, female and male. So, in my effort to become a better artist I decided to start studying and sketching legs in particular. (This time it's female legs)

Here is a few of the legs sketches so far, the first three sketches where referenced from photos online, the bottom is a few quick, off the top of my head sketches. -Tried to not spend more then a minute on any of them on that sheet.

Hey everyone!

Xena: Warrior Princess is the DSC for today (Daily Sketch Challenge) and I couldn't wait to get started!
I really like Xena... my Mom, two younger brothers and I watch the series on Netflix. I actually had a lot of fun sketching this and I am thinking I might even do a second sketch of Xena and Gabrielle together later if I have extra time.

Something I did tonight messing around with coloring in layers on SAI! I think I am finally starting to get the hang of this program. You know, now that I am on my 13th day of the trial. I am thinking that I will have to purchase it!

I think that finishing this the biggest thing that catches me are her eyes. I haven't done any studying of manga/chibi eyes for quite a while now. I think it's time to look at some different techniques of drawing eyes for manga/chibi characters again. Something just isn't right.

Decided to do the DSC for today, I love drawing people so this one was really fun! I'm still getting the hang of drawing portraits digitally, it has proven to be frustrating but I'm getting more comfortable with it.

This took me about 50 minutes total, but I stopped and saved at the 30 minute limit. Enjoy!

The DSC for today, I actually spent a bunch of time finishing this.. I'm incapable of quick sketching unless I don't feel like drawing, yeah, that's it. I am working really hard to try and take the "manga" look out of all of my not manga drawings, I think the eyes may still be too big along with the bunch of other errors I wont even bother listing. Anyway, I'll keep practicing and get something right someday.. I think.

Hang on a second.. how did I not know that Johnny Depp is hot?! He's like the darker version of Matt Bomer! I guess the only Johnny Depp I've seen is when he's very in character. You know, Jack Sparrow, Mad Hatter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I had no clue he was cute. Anyway, sorry, I know it's quite horrifying when I start acting like a girl.

Hey everyone!
I am really happy with this drawing and how it turned out! Inspired by an artist I watch who sometimes draws chibi characters eating food that is way too big for them. Thought it was adorable and wanted to draw my own. So here we go!

It was going to be a disaster but I said something on Twitter about how much I wish my paint program had a blending tool, a friend of mine suggested a different paint program, so I started the drawing in Paint and finished this drawing in GIMP. I am *loving* GIMP!

Finally starting to get the hang of my tablet, I spent so many hours sketching random things to get used to it. Finally ending up with stuff I don't cringe when sharing. :) I know, before Halloween and I'm doing a Christmas drawing, couldn't help myself. -BTW, I want a chocolate chip cookie now.

Hey y'all!
So, you may or may not know that I got a tablet the other night. My Mom and her boyfriend bought me a Bamboo Touch for my birthday/Christmas, and then gave it to me a couple nights ago. I have spent hours on this thing trying to get used to using it. It's, challenging...I'm not very good at drawing with it yet, but my sketching is getting better already. In other words, you can almost identify what I am drawing at this point!

I will share a sketch dump later to show you what I've been working on. For now this is something I did tonight for Halloween. Headless horseman.. ha?

DSC Challenge today, NIGHTMARE. Why comic character's names also seen to be written in all caps I'm not really sure. Anyway, the pencils up there took me about 20 minutes. The inks and colors took, forever.

Will Vandom Chibi Sketch

It's a quick, crappily digital chibi sketch of Will Vandom.

I was a huge fan of W.I.T.C.H. when it was playing couple years back on Disney's Jetix. When I heard that Disney was going to pull W.I.T.C.H. and learned how hard it would be for American viewers to get this awesome cartoon series I quickly started a "Save W.I.T.C.H." website, started an email petition and even created a group. I was steaming and ready to save my favorite TV show.

I faithfully watched EVERY episode shown, then about a month later we moved, and didn't get cable. I continued to watch W.I.T.C.H. in 10 minutes parts on YouTube. After a while I got tired of poor quality and slow connections and stopped. Lol!

I am excited to do a better drawing of Will later, and maybe the other W.I.T.C.H. girls as well! :) For tonight, I just wanted to draw something.

Hey everyone!

So, I was planing to do a bunch of sketching today just because I wanted to put 10/10/10 sketch dump as the post title. However, I've actually, kinda, maybe been watching Avatar: The Last Airbender all day.. so, I did a digital sketch of Katara waterbending for a post today. :)

It's not that great and I know the hands especially look funny, probably would've done better if I had done the line art on paper. That and I 'tried' to draw water... I need to work on that, I'm not even sure it looks like water.

This was pretty fun to draw... did the inks traditionally, and the sketch and inks took me about 30 minutes total, the coloring in Paint.net took me about 3 hours. Drawing or coloring with a mouse to me is like trying to draw with my left hand... just plain frustrating. Lol!

I also have to do a bunch of sketches tomorrow (I mean the 9th, so technically today). Because I want to post them all the next day, my post title will be "10/10/10 Sketch Dump", because it would be beyond awesome.

Hey Y'all, got a chibi request this morning and I've been working on it all day.. and by that I mean I've done like 30 sketches and thrown them all out. So I finally finished this one tonight and am decently happy with it, so I will leave it at that.

I had fun drawing this, especially the little plush superheroes! As you can see, I attempted to add a background, need to put a little more work into my backgrounds. The hair was also a lot of fun to draw, not really sure why. The whole 'with great power thing' dorky, I know.. :)

Chibi Study...

Hey everyone!

This is kind of a little chibi study I guess, I've been thinking about the different styles of chibi that I've seen, and in my mind anyway, it came down to these three basics. The middle is not my preferred style, and not one I've worked on very much as you can see. The traditional 3 heads high chibi on the left, and the style I have been drawing a lot lately the chibi on the right, which I have heard called 'mini chibis'. Cute!

Finally found some paper, so I haven't been doing so much digital sketching lately. Though I like coloring on the computer. I kept going back and forth in two paint programs coloring this, because they each have features I like to use.

Just another sketch...my really simplistic lame attempt at a background. No shading I know, but I am using Paint, and I'm just messing around with it. I usually use the 'recolor' tool in Paint.net for shading but I don't have that in Paint. Plus the recolor tool is a pain because over some shades of green, blue, yellow, red or brown it wont recolor, okay most shades of of any color. I like the recolor tool because It only darkens the color below it, it doesn't color over the black lines I have down already,and I'm sorry, I don't have that much control with my mouse to not hit the black lines already there. Anyway.

I actually did this with the generic paint that comes on a windows computer rather then my paint.net. I have to say, I'm not sure paint.net is necessarily any better then paint anymore. It's pretty cool. Been playing around with it a little bit over the past week.

So here is Kelly again wearing an orange shirt this time, I don't see why everything she owns has to be green. I'm just continuing to sketch Kelly and Scruffy, playing around with stuff.

Depending how long you have been following my blog, or my dA or if you just saw me post the link on my Twitter account, you may or may not know my Ocs Kelly and Scruffy. It's been a little while since I've done anything with them. I created them in 2008 and have redone the characters several times over.

Anyways, the fact that I redid these characters (again) isn't a new thing I'm going off on. It really is tied in with the work I've been doing with my 'project'.

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhh He is one of the only two guys in the world that I can look at and go OMG he's soooo HOT. (The other is David Tennant) I mean... gaaaahhhhh *faint* Why can't guys be as great as Neil Caffery in real life? I doubt the actor Matt Bomer is 1/4 as awesome as Neil is. Anyways, I was watching White Collar tonight and just had to draw Neil. It's sketchy, and the background is. Well, yeah. The point is I am trying to draw guys, and for being a guy, I think I did fairly well since I can't draw guys.

Gaaahhhhhh!!! And my step dad thinks I'm gay?!!! Ptffffhhhh do I sound gay to you? I don't think so.

So I saw this character on Daily Sketch Challenge that I have been watching on deviantART. I haven't joined, because it's yet another thing I would have to put my time to, and I just don't have the time to be spending on my art as much as I am, let alone anymore.

Anyways wanted to draw this character. I've also been trying to learn how to draw some more poses, it's crazy, I think I can do it and end up referencing back to the pose like 20 times. I guess I just need a lot of practice. I drew for like 6 hours last night, and this is all I have to show for it. Sketched, inked, and some colors thrown on with Paint.Net. I know, I didn't shade, didn't even try. Enjoy~

My friend suggested I drew her friend, so I did. Not at all realistic, well, he really does have rainbow hair. (awesome btw) So, I just had fun with watercolors drawing her rainbow friend. Hope you like. Enjoy!

The Joker and Catwoman Index Card Art

Catwoman was from the night I did Superwoman, as you probably noticed Catwoman and Supewoman are the only two I inked, and I plan to keep it that way. I like them better not inked. I may re-draw Catwoman.

So when I think Joker this is what comes to mind. It's not like the joker in the new movies are whatever, he freaks me out. This Joker not so much. Hope you like!

Kim Possible and Shego Index Card Art

Hey Y'all, here are the sketch cards I did last night of Kim Possible and Shego. I am very happy with the one of Shego while the one of Kim not so much. I am loving the sketching on the back of index cards, it's a lot of fun, and easier to work with watercolors then my sketchbook since the paper is thicker, it's an index card! All the skin tones that are peach are actually done with acrylic paint because I don't have a color that ever comes close to what I want in watercolor. So, it's watered-down acrylics.

I would have put these images together but my Blogger account wont let me put images next to each other, or images and text. Thinking I need to go look up the codes for that!

Little Green Frog Gremlin Dudes -Watercolors

Hey Y'all, so this is an updated character from last year, I originally had a name for these little frog gremlin guys, but I forgot it... guess it wasn't very good. I'll come up with something.

I will redraw this guy, it's kind of crappy since I drew him (maybe) the size of a silver dollar... not really big enough. He has little fang thingys if you look closely. Added fangs, got rid of the hair, and added boots. Just a quick idea.. but I am excited. I always want to follow through with these ideas and never do, (I get bored too easily) let's see how it goes this time!

Harley Quinn 2

Well, I wanted to do a more finished looking drawing of Harley Quinn after doing that sketch. I decided to try and do this one more manga then chibi. This was colored on the computer, (I think you can tell but I always want to clarify) had the worst troubles with my paint program, it wasn't wanting to work right.

I am pretty happy with this! I mean for as far as my artwork goes, I think it's pretty good. :)

Angel Harley Quinn

So I was just sketching and remembered the name "Harley Quinn" and typed into deviantART real quick to see who she was, ( I hadn't a clue) and I thought she'd be fun to sketch! I was going to coloring this on the computer like normal, but I am also doing a lot of practice with my paints, so I decided to use them for coloring instead. I am actually really happy, usually my paints are MUCH worse! ;)

The halo you ask? I have no clue, she is obviously hiding something.

Here is a portrait of a FaceBook friend that I have been working on last night and today. I did color tuning to this as you can see, I'm a little frustrated with how grayed-out all my portraits have been.. I am going to have to do some experimenting to get the desired effects I'm looking for. I'd like to get those effect traditionally rather then with a computer.. but that might not happen for a while, like I said experimenting is in order.

Hey Y'all! You all know I do a lot of FaceBook portraits, drawing my friends and sometimes people I don't know but today I did something a little different, I did a Twitter portrait. I had fun and might start doing more of these, of course I will be drawing a lot more random people then people I actually know!

My scanner is having major issues, (it's old) so I had to take the pictures with my camera. I lightened up the first picture and increased shadows ( to darken the pencil) so you could see it, I hate it when I have no choice but to do turning on the picture or upload a crappy one. The second one I had fun with, the picture turned out red-ish/orange-ish for some reason... I think it's pretty awesome!!

I hope everyone likes it, especially @Polydramatica since it is after all a drawing of her. Check her out, I think she's a lot of fun to follow already and I've only been following her since last night. Enjoy!

Hey Y'all, just some practice, and playing around. Again wanting to practice my digital coloring, also I'm working on some character design ideas.. (still) and I'm liking this! I promised my neighbor Rayeann who is 8 that I would draw her something, her favorite color is pink, hence the overly pink color scheme here... I hope she likes this, I don't want to disappoint her! We will see tomorrow.

My 'Not' Abducted Fan Art Submission

Hey Y'all, as you may know I have been following the webcomic project "Crop Circles & Coffee Rings" and have really been enjoying it. Well today I saw in the journal that there is a place for fan art now, and it read: "our new spotlight is called ABDUCTED.. and we have been abducted by deviants on da!! this area is our fan art submitted to us by deviants. you want to abduct us as well?! you may be selected and FEATURED in our ABDUCTED area!!" As I read that, I had this pop into my head so I've spent almost all day working on it, and submitted it.

Now I am off to eat dinner, and then I will go start working on my comic project. :) Enjoy!

Cluttered Spaces

I've wanted to do a comic series for a long time I think it'd be really neat! But... I haven't, for several reasons, and for several more reasons I'm still not going to. I did have a lot of fun with this, just playing around with some ideas... and I think I might do another little thing like this.. because I enjoyed doing it so much!

I spent several hours on that coloring, yikes! But yeah, just experimenting with a couple ideas, enjoy!!

Hey y'all, here is some inks I did yesterday. I enjoyed it though it didn't turn out how I was hoping. The oriental girl turned out perfectly. I am almost out of paper, the store near me hasn't had it in stock for weeks now, I can't afford it even if they did. What this means? I don't know exactly, just felt like complaining about it, being a drama queen without actually telling anyone what's wrong. I'm so good at that.

20 Minute Baby Sketch

I originally thought Becky here was blonde, but it didn't quite sit right with me.. and when I put an accidental color in her hair I found it worked perfectly, and changed it. I had a lot of fun drawing this, through the entire process..! I hope to do more like this soon!!

The first drawing I have here is my Mom's BF's first comic strip from his project "The Eight"

4th panel, 2nd guy, that's the character I drew here.. I just did a rather quick idea of him, as you can see he's not very refined yet. This drawing has made me realize just how much I need to work on faces, that will be my next project... I also know the coloring.. umm, sucks.. but... I'm trying! :)

I am excited to go get some more sketching done!! I'll work on faces and still that ever lasting nightmare of anatomy. :/

Super Hero Drawings..

Hey Y'all!

I have been drawing a bunch today and yesterday. working on some super heroes... :)

I usually use a lot of reference for drawing any kind of super heroes and these are two that I've drawn without any reference... the first one I drew yesterday morning and the second one yesterday night and finished up this morning... I still see some issues with both of them, but.. I am much happier with my second result... I'm a quick study. ^^ Doing another sketch now.. I'll share more later... 24 hour comic day... I'll be ready for you!! :D

Hey Y'all, here's another Faceook Portrait. Not friends with her, or her mother but I am friends with her father. In fact, her father is my father so there we go. I've drawn her before but this one is a lot better. The scanner kind of blank out a lot of my shading, (Note to self, darken shading...) Anyways she's really sweet I've heard, and likes to draw, and bowl.. I would think but.... I've never met her.

So here's my portrait of her... time taken about 5 hours, coffee taken 4 cups... done in 2B pencil yay! Enjoy y'all! :)

Hey Y'all! Okay, this is a little different from a FaceBook portrait.... the picture was from FaceBook, and is a friend of mine but.

I was talking with Mom, (She started talking numbers) and I zone out completely when she does that, so to keep my head from exploding while she said number and number after number, equals, divided by OMG MAKE IT STOP.. *breathes* hehe I started sketching. I have seen this picture a couple times, and I had just watched someone on YouTube draw a caricature.

So here is my 15 minute, slightly caricatured version of Lawson that I just sketched. Lol Enjoy!

Snake Character Designs...

Hey Y'all!

I was working the other night on this new character, I had done the concept sketch for her a few weeks ago and was excited to finish the design. On the left, the concept sketch, on the right, The nearly finished character. These were both done in Paint.net with my mouse... Normally I would be drawing the sketches and coloring on the computer... but once again I'm having a LOT of problems with my hands, it makes it very hard to actually hold and have control over a pencil, my mouse is a little easier to use. But still.

Hopefully I will have more to share later! And yes, this character is in relation to this project with "American Girl" ;)
